x Ray C. Madison - Purchased the ECO-Aqualizer since it was very similar to ozone, but without any harmful effects to the livestock. It has performed wonderfully. And best of all, I do not have to worry about replacing any bulbs or electrical ballasts. Yes, I would recommend this product to friends. Kurt Stafford - Fantastic product! Always had troubles maintaining water clarity. Not anymore thanks to the ECO-Aqualizer. William Bedford - Absolutely incredible product! Never before have I seen such a difference in my tank with anything else in this short of a period. I installed your ECO-Aqualizer and overnight I noticed a huge improvement in my water. Crystal clear. My fish are doing great. They are no longer dodging each other but instead cruising with a tranquil peace about them. I can't explain it but then again I have always wondered how cell phones work. Great product! Carrie Taylor - It really works! I can't believe how quickly the ECO-Aqualizer showed results. The very next morning my 37 gallon tank was sparkling clear. It was like their was no water at all in there. Incredible! Thomas Harding - I just purchase my 4th ECO-Aqualizer. I can't tell you how much I thank your company for this wonderful little invention. My wife can't believe how great our tanks look all the time. They stay crystal clear all the time, whether I do water changes or not. I've actually gotten lazy and don't even bother changing the water - everything is doing great. Two of my tanks have not had a water change in over 3 months... guess what? Still looking better than ever! Love it! Brian Hermandinger - Remember me...I have that 75 gallon fresh water tank. Thank you very very much for the info you gave me about using the ECO-Aqualizer along with R/O water. I have NO more ALGAE to speak of. All is working GREAT!!! Ammonia none, PH 7.0 Fish love the ECO-Aqualizer system. They look very colorful, more active, and not darting all over the tank like before! Your company's product is Excellent! I am recommending to my friends. So if you get some orders from Manchester N.H. area, its from me!! Thanks again for sending those helpful Emails to me a while back. I change about 8 gallons per month in my tank - No need to change more!! Fish are growing well. Feel free to use this letter to other readers who are thinking about purchasing an ECO-Aqualizer. Best investment they can make!!! Take care and please keep me informed about any new future products your company might come out with. I and my fish buddies thank you. Steven Brink - I'm putting the ECO-Aqualizer to the test. Its now been running for 6 months and all I do is top-off my tank. I was going to do a water change on several occasions, but after checking my ammonia, nitrite and nitrate levels, everything was fine. So I thought, lets just see how far we can take it. The ECO-Aqualizer has truly performed an outstanding job. My water looks better than ever and my fish have never looked healthier and happier. I'll let you know when I finally need to do a water change.

-
bought a unit for my 125 gallon tank and was surprised to
see such quick improvement in my tank. I'm trying to get my
LFS to start caring them so that the rest of the people can
see what I see on a day to day basis. Recently a few family
members have come to me to ask for help in setting up marine
tanks for them. I tell them before they sink
ANY money into any equipment to first buy
an Ecoaqualizer then come talk to me. I love this product.
Thank You guys for making my hobby a lot more enjoyable.
Louis Thomas - Your product is GREAT. Simple to install and finally something that is maintenance-free. Yeah! Double-yeah! I was very skeptical at first but seeing is believing. And believe me, my fish have never been this happy before. Its amazing how different their behaviors are - they never hide anymore - constantly swimming in and out between everything. And man do they eat. Great product. Jacob West - Thank you so much for the ECO-Aqualizer. I have a 50 gallon discus tank and my fish thank you as well. They appear to be so much more happier and even breathe much better now. My water is crystal clear just as you said it would be. I will never again have to put any chemicals in this tank thanks to ECO-Aqualizer.

Thank you.
I have had the ECO-Aqualizer on my 75 gallon aquarium for about
5 weeks now. I have just
started my aquarium at the end of July and I have to say that it
makes salt water fish keeping so easy.
I recently experienced a 3 day power outage because of
Hurricane Isabel. I did
not loose any fish and my filtration only ran off and on about
16 hours during that 72 hour period.
I truly believe that the ECO-Aqualizer
made a difference because guys that I know that have had
aquariums for years lost fish. Also,
my buddy who chose not to purchase the Aqualizer
has lost 3 fish and Angela Jiminez - I have a 75 gallon reef tank with a CPR protein skimmer and an ozonizer. Anyway, I've tried for over 1 1/2 years to house 2 gold-head sleeper gobies and cleaner wrasses (worker fish). Being unsuccessful, I would knowingly buy a pair, cross my fingers and pray to god that they would last long enough to turn my sand and clean the parasites off of my other fish for at least a month or so.... never happened! One day after reading in a magazine I stumbled across the Eco-Aqualizer ad. Desperate to try anything I called and placed my first order. Although I was ridiculed by my personal friend who happens to be the owner of the fish pet store. I didn't care I still tried it! I was desperate!!! Within 5-6 hours after it was installed my anemone seemed to be dancing! It opened up soooo BIG and WIDE! My pericula clowns were ecstatic! MY trumpet and leather corals seem to get juicy plump! And the next day.... was even more amazing!!!! My water was clearer than ever! My fish seem to be so much happier and as far as my gobies and cleaner wrasse??????? Almost 8 months later my cleaner wrasse is still alive and eating frozen food! And my gobies seemed to fall in love with each, got married and had babies!!! I love my eco-aqualizer!!!!! Jason Easterby - I provide maintenance and management services to many aquariums monthly in the Houston area and have found ECO-Aqualizer to be very helpful. After installing it on most of my customer's aquariums, I noticed a big difference in water clarity and skimmer efficiency. Fish tanks do very well and rarely encounter any disease problems. I will comment that with this product, reef tanks have equally shown an improvement in appearance and especially growth of coralline algae. Their have been no harmful effects. It has made my job cleaning and maintenance much easier. I highly recommend this product. Jonathan Wakes - I purchased your unit after I had read some untested threads on some forums. I was not expecting much but I felt it my duty to test it out for myself. I have a 120 gallon reef tank which has been doing quite well except for a slight nuisance algae problem. When I got the ECO-Aqualizer, I hooked it up immediately. I was due for a water change but I decided to see if your product could perform as you promise in your ads. To my surprise, my water was much clearer and I have experienced less algae on the glass then before. Also my skimmer had gone crazy and I had to clean it right away. The skimmate was a different color then usual, don't know what the deal is but I was admittedly amazed. Great product. Dale Thompson - Great product! I've been doing freshwater aquariums for 40 years and never before have I seen such incredible clarity in the water. Billy Wright - I have to say, your product is a miracle. I use to have problems when I first purchased new fish and getting them to eat, not to mention ich problems. Now that I have ECO-Aqualizer, I don't have that problem. New fish acclimate and begin eating much quicker, just as you had claimed. Finally a product that actually works! Lisa O'Donnell - I just wanted to let you know that I'm very pleased with the ECO unit. I installed the unit and within 2 days I noticed the water looked clear and my hair algae was greatly decreased. My fish have no signs of ich to date, and my pink encrusting algae is really growing. I am very satisfied with the results and will recommend it to my fellow reef keepers. I'm seeing a bunch of new growth on my corals, both hard and soft and everything looks really good. Anthony Jones - Great product at a great price! My reef tank did very well before, but I'm always up for trying to see if my conditions can be improved. A day after installing the ECO-Aqualizer, the water became sparkling clear and my tank has been doing better than ever before. Much thanks. Cheryl Horbelt - I just wanted to say thanks for your product. My tropical fish have never before been so lively. They truly seem energized. Before my fish were hiding a lot and some came out only for feeding. Now their constantly swimming around and much more playful. Thanks. Elizabeth Wilkins - Thanks ECO-Aqualizer. I just introduced a new Powder Blue Tang and Butterflyfish into my aquarium and a terrible outbreak of ich covered my tank. All my fish were getting infected so I decided to try your product. It worked great. All my fish got their appetites back and even ate more intensely. The ich was still there, it just didn't seem to affect the fish. Your product does exactly what it says and I'm happy to say that I did not loose a single fish to this disaster. Excellent product. Mark Savanna - Your product really works! I was somewhat skeptical at first but thought I would give it a try since you offered a Money Back Guarantee. I'm glad I did. It may sound strange, but my fish seem much happier. Their colors have greatly improved. Water looks great! Josh Stevens - I have a fresh water tank and have had problems with algae and cloudy water. I was always buying new chemicals and adding to my tank. It became outrageously expensive. I installed the ECO-Aqualizer and my water cleared up in one day. And it now stays crystal clear. Your product is great. I feel much more comfortable not having to always keep adding chemicals. Thanks for saving me lots of money. Serge Viau - I ordered an ecoaqualizer about 2 month ago and I would have to say that I am very pleased with the water clarity and how it is containing all of the PH, Nitrite and Nitrate levels. So far I only did one water change and the reason behind it was of a red algae growth in the aquarium. As for your product I would have to say that I am 99% Happy, the 1% would be that it can't control that damn red algae. Jody Perrin - Thanks so much for putting the eco-aqualizer on the market.....It is an absolute must for anyone with any kind of a tank. Ryan Verostek - Purchased skimmer after breaking my Excalibur model skimmer. Very happy with product the best skimmer I have ever used no adjustments needed for perfect foam! Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends. Don - 2 weeks so far. One full cup of skimate. And about 1/4 now. Is working very good so far. had to move ventri one time, and noise is not bad at all. Buy it! Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends. Simon Trippick - The Red Sea skimmer is (1.) noisy. 2) After a while, if the pump stops working, gets clogged, you have to take the whole thing off to service the pump which is a real pain, especially if you are working on a sump under the tank and space is limited. 3) The pump is not powerful enough, it is difficult to prime. 3) The amount of 'skimmate' collected is at best poor. The collection cup is too small. 4) It is not versatile enough. You can only fit it over a certain sized aquarium. There are no extensions of any kind. The input is not interchangable from one side to another. It only works with aquariums that have a certain water level!! If the water is low in the sump then it will stop working. 5) A lot of salt creep from the neck. 6) Virtually impossible to clean the inside of the unit as it is fully enclosed. Tim Williams - Aweome SeaClone skimmer. I can't believe the color of the gunk it takes out of my tank. Simple to put together, and simple to use.

Early days of protein skimmer has
just produced its first batch of horrible smelling skimmate. Very quite
operation, would have given top marks but does bubble up water just
after feed. Chris Len - Bak Pak is the second skimmer I have used and it is on a 50 Gal Reef Tank. It started collecting waste right away and continues to collect at a rapid rate. My water is crystal clear thanks to this great skimmer. My Bio Load is high and this is the reason it is able to stay healthy Matt - I can not get this protein skimmer to work properly. It is a Aquarium Systems skimmer, manufactured by Instant Ocean. I put it in a tub full of fresh bath water, plugged in the pump, and it pumps good. There is an air inlet and valve that the pump sucks air through, and it is sucking air, however there is no fine mist of bubbles circulating through the body of the unit. The pump is blowing a mist of air out of it's outlet, however when you hook it up to the skimmer, there is only a small tornado of air through the middle tube, and no fine mist. I have seen these in action many times at local fish stores, and this one does not look like it's functioning right. Randy Q. - Purchased a CPR skimmer and have had nothing but problems. I can not seem to get the foam to properly work. It either works great for a short period and then overflows everywhere making a mess. Or I can not get it to work at all. I have to work or try to adjust on it constantly. It has become a bothersome hobby all of a sudden! Rob - The Berlin X2 performs perfectly - no problems with installation and the fine tune adjustments work great. Yes, I would recommend this product to my friends. Joe Saunders - I purchased the Coralife Super Skimmer for 65 gallon tanks and use it on my 40 gallon FOWLR tank, it replaces my Seaclone skimmer. It's amazing how big this is in comparison. It took a few days to acclimate to the tank, but after that, my water is cleaner than I've ever seen it, even after the cloudiness created by replacing my crushed coral substrate with sand. You won't regret this purchase. Sarah Simmons - I keep having problems with my protein skimmer. It does not seem to pull any gunk out of the water. Foam fractionation is available - but no brown gunk ever appears. I wonder if it works at all or am I doing something wrong. I think I would rather keep doing water changes to make sure that everything survives in the tank. Jeremy Gosnell - The Turboflotor Blue 1000 is an easy skimmer to install and configure in a wide variety of aquarium settings. It has a strong needle/mesh wheel pump. I have had the skimmer running roughly 5 days and it still is not producing any decent skimmate. My guess is that it still is breaking in. Paul K. - My protein skimmer keeps getting clogged. The injector nozzle always has buildup of salt around it and I have to clean it constantly to get the skimmer to work again. Also, when it is working, I get a tremedous amount of bubbles in my tank which becomes irritating. iJonas Barry - Protein skimmers only work correctly if you adjust the valves to produce the correct amount of bubbles. Otherwise, the skimming is not effective at removing waste. I suggest to read up on the protein skimmer before buying and make sure that the design you choose will be productive for your particular set-up. Tom Gates - Be sure to get a protein skimmer that does not need constant adjustments to the air intake and water intake. I can not seem to get the correct mix of the two. I am not an expert aquarists and find it difficult in knowing exactly what the problem is. Kermit - I would like to thank you for taking the time to seriously talk to me about the issues I was having with my ZeroEdge/ Euro-Reef set up. At the time I was truly not going to build a new tank and was just asking advice. During our talk it was apparent that you really know filtration and the thing that really stood out is that your genuine and honest. I never felt like I was being told what I wanted to hear just to make a sale. At that point I realized that I was never going to get where I wanted to be with my current set up. When I received the boxes I could not believe how nice and complete it was. I didn't have to buy any fittings, clamps, or hose it was all there and then some. Next I would like to say how happy I am with the CLF1 performance and now I know what real "Foam" looks like. I owned the Euro-Reef skimmer for 6 months and now realize I was only making bubbly water not foam. Live and learn I guess. The other thing I must note is how quiet it is in my office now. The needle wheel skimmer just sat there and buzzed all day and drove me nuts. I feel like this system will be with me for many tanks to come and if I out grow it I will definitely buy another. John H. - Thanks for putting me in line for the sump and refugium. And, regarding proteim skimmers, I see no reason someone should ever buy one of those other skimmers unless they are just looking for the latest trend or gadget. I don't follow the crowd though. I did my research, and after finding nothing negative about your skimmers and other products (and ENORMOUS amounts of praise for your products) I ordered your Lifereef skimmer. I view it like buying a hand-made sports car versus a mass produced toy. Yours is the Rolls-Royce or Aston Martin of skimmers in my humble opinion (except your product requires near zero maintenance). P.S. This is funny to me. Your skimmer cost me about $400 if I remember correctly. I saw a crappy Red Sea Prizm hang on skimmer 'toy' for $360 at a LFS in the Kansas City area. Yours was a BARGAIN for $400. THANKS Jimbo - I was also looking on ebay and the one I liked best was the Poseidon2. One problem with this type of skimmer is that the air intake can get clogged causing them to overflow, that's a pretty poweful pump attached 977 gph and you would have a mess. The output isn't big enough to compensate for the increase flow if it gets clogged. Standard venturi vs impeller injection helps with this problem. If it's in sump then it's not that big an issue. Jeff - Issues with various protein skimmer designs to watch out for: Needle-Wheels Protein Skimmers: Can be noisy due to vibration and rigid mounting to skimmer body. Can be more noisy due to air cavitation since the air is introduced before the pump, and the pump needle-wheel beats the air into bubbles. Less friendly to plankton and copepods since the needle-wheel acts like a blender, unlike standard pump impellers that simply move "pockets" of water through the pump, something to think about if using a refugium. And something else to consider is the proprietary pump which means no other pump can be used on this type of skimmer. Becketts Venturis: The Becketts is nothing more than a big venturi. It must be housed in its own chamber to prevent water from spraying all over and stop the loud sucking noise, add another air valve to fiddle with and you now have three adjustments you have to get in harmony: water in, air in, water out. And if you tweak one you have to tweak the others. Nozzle Injection: Think of putting your thumb over the end of a garden hose and spraying water into a bucket, that's how nozzle injection skimmers work. Problems: the nozzle gets caked with salt requiring you to clean it (some even include a special cleaning tool) and a port on the nozzle so you can clean the salt, noise due to the high-velocity water hitting the surface of the water in the skimmer, very narrow adjustment range as the nozzle is either submersed or too far away from the nozzle to generate the microbubbles. Black box at bottom keeps you from seeing the water level needed for proper operation. Conventional Venturis: These are any other venturi skimmer on the market and not the Lifereef venturis: Problems: Constant salt clogging which causes erratic skimmer performance and constant cleaning of the venturi. Noise, due to the venturi orifice sucking in air it makes a whistling or a sucking noise. Collection cup flooding due to erratic performance, due to venturi clogging, your cup can overflow. Downdrafts: Now here is a very misunderstood area in design, function, and problems. The majority of downdraft designs can be identified by a closed box (or wet box) at the bottom of the skimmer and a large diameter uplift or "dry" column, and a water/air delivery of many different types. These skimmers may utilize for their air delivery a special spray nozzle, a Becketts venturi, a regular nozzle with a bio-ball column to break up the water stream into bubbles, or even a standard venturi with a larger water throughput. Problems, lots: Noise due to high-speed air being ingested into the column or shot onto the waters surface or onto the bio-balls. This design is difficult to trap and retain all the microbubbles in such a short closed box. Larger diameter uplift column requires a much stronger (gph) water pump, more water must be processed because the uplift columns are so short that contact time is reduced, and these types of skimmers REQUIRE a weekly take-down to clean the uplift column of sludge or the skimmer won't work. And one last but very important issue: Skimmer sensitivity....... This means that these types of skimmers are extremely sensitive to water quality and air quality. You would think that you would want a skimmer that is sensitive to water quality but you don't because these skimmers are actually working less time compared to venturi types. The reason is that because these skimmers are processing so much water, along with large volumes of air, that any minor water quality change will cause the skimmer to STOP FOAMING. A good example is when you put your hand in the aquarium or sump, and who hasn't done that at least once a day. This minor activity will change the water surface tension just enough (due to body oil) that these skimmers will STOP FOAMING for hours, and sometimes days, before they resume "normal" skimming. And there are many other products that the average hobbyist adds to the aquarium water that can make these skimmers either stop working, or, foam so much that they can't be run for awhile. And air quality? Being that these skimmers injest large volumes of air means that if you are cooking anything greasy like bacon, steak, hamburgers, hotdogs, hashbrowns, etc. that this grease molecule will get sucked into the skimmer and cause it to STOP FOAMING! It may sound funny but lots of customers don't even think of this and can't figure out why their skimmers aren't working, neither can the manufacturer! Multi-Pump Designs: Can be any kind of skimmer but usually larger column diameters requiring lots of air because of the large diameter. Same problems as downdrafts, lots of air and lots of water means a very sensitive skimmer, and lots of power-hungry pumps and lots of heat. Special Waste Collectors: When the first downdraft was introduced it did not come with a waste collector. It was about a year later that one was introduced because these skimmers were, and still are, unpredictable and can dump lots of water and if you are dumping into a bucket you would have a flood. So, a special waste collector was needed to prevent the skimmer from flooding. The "collection cups" on these skimmers cannot be used for collecting anything, they just divert the waste into another container, and it better be a waste collector designed to prevent the skimmer from flooding. If you plug the drain line on a downdraft design the skimmer won't function. If a skimmer company offers a special waste collector it is of the "down-draft or "pseudo-downdraft design. Bruce Herring - I had the Turbo-Twist UV for 8 months. The reason I got it was because I had brown algae and cloudy water, and in two days my tank was crystal clear. I run mine off a power head, and it does great. Tom Gray - I tried the JBJ Submariner UV unit to help out with cloudy water. Had problems with it (bad ballast, bulb filled up with water and quit working in the first week, no difference in water clairity) so I went with Turbo UV instead and am very impressed. I wish I would have went with this one first off Wane Dompier - I was simply amazed at the performance of the Gamma UV Sterilizer. I had problems with algae in the tank, and no matter how many water changes, it always came back -- this time with a green tinge to the water. The Sterilzer made that water so clear, I could count the scales on the fish. I keep testing to make sure that the beneficial bacteria in the substrate is not affected, but there is absolutely no problems there. The price is great too. Mike Dube - The Turbo-Twist 3X UV Sterilizer is an excellent product. Within 36 hours my 75-gallon reef tank was crystal clear. I had previous problems with diatoms and suspended micro algae, and this product in short order did the job. Richard Bloom - After having the UV sterilizer installed for only 4 months, the bulb went completely out. So I had to buy another one ($48). And after only 2 weeks, I had another problem. The UV unit started smoking, luckily I was home and my wife noticed the smell. Well, not only did the bulb go out, but the whole bottom of the unit was smoltered and melted. I would not recommend a UV sterilizer to anyone. Josh Coulson - Excellent UV product! I had a bad algea bloom and after I began using the AquaMedic Comapt UV Sterilizer I had crystal clear water in just 3 days. I would recommend this product for the over all health of your aquarium. It is very affordable too. Troy Lennander - The UV cleaned up the free floating algae/ green water in a matter of days. We have high phospates in our water supply. It was losing battle without the Aqua Medic UV. Tank is crystal clear now Michael L. - The Lifeguard UV is an amazing. Put a 25 watt Lifeguard in a 150 gallon. Water had been green for weeks, and no chemical or water change could cure the algea problem. 36 hrs after installation the water was clear!!! I wish I had bought it a year ago. Randall Lam - AquaStep Ultraviolet Sterilizer is one of the best purchases in my 45 years of fish-keeping. It's very versatile, simple to set up, and less stressful than chemical treatments for parasites and bacteria. Fish deaths have gone way down and the water is crystal clear! This item will definitely pay for itself in savings. Blake Thomas - The Aquastep UV has been working, as far as helping with cloudy water. But I do not see where it has helped at all with my green algae issues. Everyone talks about how it kills green algae. Not here! My algae has been going crazy and nothing seems to help. the UV was a waste of my money. Tom Jeffers - I put the Turbo twist UV on my salt tanks. They are excellent! They do just what they say they will and are super cost effective and efficient. Abe Nez - I read about how UV sterilizers eliminate algae and parasites, so I put a 9 watt Turbo-Twist UV on my 90 gallon Tanganyikan tank. In 3 days, the green tinge was gone and the water is crystal clear. Buying the Turbo-Twist was one of the best things I did for my fish's health and the beauty of my aquarium.
Dave K.
- I've tried UV and,
after using it for a couple of years, felt I was better off without it.
First off, you can just about forget about using it to control diseases.
Unless you use massive amounts of UV, it's just not powerful enough to
kill the most common parasitic diseases. Jason C. - You guys have helped answer lots of other questions, so I hope you don't mind another. I've been thinking about adding a UV sterilizer, but I'm not sure it's worth it. I have a 55 gallon, with 3 inches of sand/crushed coral, a few hardy fish (some damsels, algae blenny, red Coris wrasse), about 12 pounds of live rock (I know not nearly enough, but will increase as soon as I upgrade to sufficient lighting), and a few inverts. No live corals. I've had some ich problems in the past (all is good at the moment), but I'm still almost afraid to add new fish. I've read many of the articles on the site regarding both ich, and UV sterilizers and I see that UV sterilizers are certainly not a guaranteed means of killing parasites, especially in tanks with a sand substrate. Steve Pro - I do not really recommend any UV's. Far cheaper and more effective to focus on excellent husbandry. If you want, ask around the various chat forum, message boards, or local aquarium societies for recommendations for your fellow hobbyists. Erik - The Coralife UV product is overpriced junk. Water keeps entering the quarts sleeve and shorting out the bulb. The last time it almost caused a fire! Tossing it in the trash. I know what you are thinking .. he did not put the seals in place, but the quartz sleeve is self contained without any seals! Dont waste your money ... get a different brand. I would not recommend this product to my friends. William Conway - I have a 150 Gallon reef tank in my basement and I replaced my U.V. Sterilizer with with this product as the seal had been broken on my old one. I was starting to get hair algae on all my live rock and corals. Within 2 days the Coralife Sterilizer had almost stoped the growth and with the addition of some cleaning live stock my tank is back to normal. Thanks Tiburon O. - Nice mounting options. However, the UV has too many areas that are prone to leaks. A solid one piece design would be better than a "take apart" model.
